Create Your Own Buttons/Banners

From The Otherkin Community

Members are more than welcome to contribute their own buttons and banners for other users to use for linking to The Otherkin Community. To create a banner, you must abide by the following rules:

The banner must

  • contain either The Otherkin Community logo or the text "Otherkin Community"
  • not contain any copyrighted images without the author's permission
  • not contain any material not suitable for children under the age of 18
  • be uploaded in .png or .gif format
  • be uploaded with a title following the format "BUTTON/BANNER-YOURDESC-SIZEX-SIZEY.ext" (ex: Button-blue-88-31.png)

To see a list of standard button/banner sizes, please see this website. While you are not required to use one of these sizes, it is highly recommended.

To add images to this page, place the following text at the bottom of your banner description after you have uploaded it to the wiki via the "Upload File" link on the left:

[[Category:Banners]]

[edit] Using the Community Logo

While it is by no means required, it is recommended that you use the Community logo in your buttons/banners. The Otherkin Community logos can be found in Category:Source Files in SVG format. Using an application like Inkscape, you can export that as an image in whatever size you wish, creating a very smooth image.

The Community logo may only be used in works that reference or are representative of The Otherkin Community.

[edit] Modifying Community Buttons/Banners

If you like the style of one of the Community banners/buttons, but would like to modify it to fit your needs, that's not a problem. All source files (created with The GIMP) may be found in Category:Source Files, along with any other user-submitted source files for their buttons/banners. Feel free to upload your modifications!
