Help:Creating Otherkin Articles
From The Otherkin Community
In order to keep organized and provide consistent reference material, all Otherkin articles must follow the format below.
[edit] Title Format
All titles should be prefixed with "Otherkin:", and must be plural. For example:
Otherkin:Dragons
Do not use any of the following:
- Dragons
- Dragon
- Otherkin:Dragon
- Otherkin Dragon
- Dragon Otherkin
If you would like to be increasingly helpful, you can also add redirects from other names. For example, all of the above could be redirected to Otherkin:Dragons. You may also redirect terms such as "Dragonkin" to Otherkin:Dragons. Note: If "Dragonkin" is the proper term, not "Dragons", then use "Dragonkin". This applies to any race.
To redirect, create a blank page with the following text:
#REDIRECT Otherkin:Dragons
[edit] Otherkin Bio
Each article has an "Otherkin Bio" displayed on the right-hand side. An example is shown here. This bio provides a quick reference to the specific race, so reading the entire article is not needed. To add this bio to an article, please use the following code:

Not all are required. For example, you may include only the first couple lines (so long as you end it with }}). Do not feel like you need to enter information. If you need to skip a line, simply enter "|", then skip it.
[edit] Otherkin Picture
If you choose to specify a picture for a certain race, it must meet the following criteria:
- Ensure it is not in any way stereotypical (angels = holy, demons = killers, etc)
- Use your best judgment to ensure it is not offensive to other viewers
- It must clearly show the race and accurately depict racial traits
- You must Special:Upload upload the image, and include any copyright information
When using the image in the bio, it must be scaled to no larger than 300px! If this is not done, the image will stretch the bio area and cause a problem for the article. To scale an image, use the following code:

For example:

Note: If the image size is less than 300px, do not use scaling, or the image will appear to be low quality.
