Psychophysiological Thought Reading

From The Otherkin Community

Jump to: navigation, search

Psychophysiological thought reading is the ability to "read" an individual's current thoughts through use of the Ideomotor Response. This is a method used my magicians for mentalism effects, and goes by a number of names, including Hellstromism, Contact Telepathy, and simply muscle reading.

[edit] Telepathy

Telepathy is generally defined as the transfer of thoughts. In metaphysics, you generally think of telepathy as the ability to read someone's mind or make suggestions from a distance without physical contact. For that reason, it is named contact telepathy. This ability requires physical contact (for most methods, with the exception of one), and is done through either the sense of touch or eyesight.

Unlike normal telepathy, which is still on the forefront of debate and controversy, psychophysiological thought reading has been proven and is used every day by mentalists (magicians specializing in illusions pertaining to the mind). This is something anybody can learn, though it will take a bit of practice.

[edit] Disclosure

Because this is a well-kept secret amongst magicians, I feel a little ashamed for exposing the secret to the public. However, for the sake of the advancement of science, and for those interested in telepathy who can't quite perform standard telepathy, I'm going to. Currently, however, I am not going to place the article in the wiki, though that will change in the future. I'm developing an article that will be available on The Otherkin Community that will cover many of the aspects of psychophysiological thought reading from a scientific perspective. I'm not yet comfortable placing a trade secret in the wiki, and would prefer to take all the blame for it myself in an article should there be any debate. -Clodaus
