What Is OtherkinWiki?
The OtherkinWiki project is a collection of articles on Otherkin and Metaphysics that anyone can contribute to (with certain restrictions1). The community is maintained by its members, so it only seems fair that the members be able to have complete control over the content. This collective effort will not only lessen the load on individuals, but increase the amount of content on the site, as well as the accuracy of the content. If something does not fit, then it will be changed.
Why Otherkin?
As the community grows, I'm sure it'll be asked - why Otherkin? Why should Otherkin be the main contributors to this material? Well, one simple reason. Otherkin, by definition, are not native to Earth. Therefore they are not limited to human knowledge. Much of metaphysics is elementary science to some races - it's just a matter of remembering it. We understand that you may not believe us, so we're not asking you to take our word for it. The goal of this site is to prove it through a number of experiments and extensive research, outlined so you are able to perform it on your own and achieve similar, if not identical, results.
What About Vandalism?
Vandalism is expected due to the nature of the content contained within this wiki. However, wiki articles are just as easy to restore as they are to edit. All edits are saved in the history, along with the user / IP Address of the editor. The article can be restored to any previous version with the click of a button. However, it must be noticed before it can be restored. Therefore it will be up to the members to keep an eye on articles. Administrators and moderators will also scan over articles and watch commonly vandalized articles for changes.
Why can only registered members edit articles?
This is to help reduce vandalism. Once the Community becomes more established and has more daily visits, members will be able to correct vandalism much more quickly. At that time, the public may be able to edit articles. This will be up for debate when the time comes.
Notes
1. Contributors' views are welcome, however we are looking for scientific fact through research, and ask that opinions and theories are clearly stated as such in articles.
